Just like in 2019, we decided to help the orphanage Srdiečko - Centrum pre deti a rodiny (eng. Center for kids and families) in Banská Bystrica. Last year we donated detergents needed for daily use. This year we decided to visit the center again. A couple of days ago we visited Srdiečko Center to help the children and their tutors and donated needed cosmetics and detergents. Those moments were unforgettable.
Srdiečko - Center for kids and familiesprovides classified care to the children who were taken away from their biological family and provides substitutional care for them. In the Center, mental development is stimulated, and societal norms and rules are taught. The Center helps children to think independently and build healthy self-confidence. Moreover, it helps children and families in danger and victims of domestic violence.
In 2019 the Srdiečko Center provided care and safety for 21 children, including 2 newcomers. At the beginning of the year, the name of the orphanage was changed to Srdiečko - Center for kids and families.
Those moments were simply unforgettable. The whole time we were just laughing and joking with the kids. They even sang multiple songs for us. We asked them about their dreams and what they wanted to be in the future. Honesty, we admired their positivity in seeing the world and their endless courage. Many of us don't realize that the corona crisis affected the kids and their tutors in the Srdiečko Center in a big way. Therefore, we are even happier that we could help literally in the biggest time of need not only materially but with our presence as well.
