Red wine
If you or your friends spilled red wine, you should clean it as soon as possible. In this case, time is your enemy. Soak it up with paper towels and salt it. Salt sucks the color as well as humidity. Afterward, clean it with a drop of dish soap. If the stain is already dry, blot it with washing powder or Vanish.
Coffee
In case you spilled coffee, soak it up with a paper towel. Mix a tablespoon of liquid dish soap with a tablespoon of white vinegar and 2 cups of warm water. Sponge the stain working from outside in, don't rub it.
Nail polish
Spilled nail polish? On a light carpet use acetone-free nail polish remover. On a dark carpet use alcohol or hairspray instead, because nail polish remover could harm the carpet’s color. Spray the hairspray on the surface and gently brush it with a toothbrush. After that use the vacuum cleaner.
Oily and candy stains
Did you accidentally drop greasy food? You can remove oil stains from the carpet with common dish soap using a damp cloth. With dish soap, you can also clean stains from sweets. First, vacuum the remnants of sweets and then scrub the area with a clean cloth soaked with dish soap.
Juice
You can „shave“ the juice off the carpet. How? Spray it with shaving foam and leave it for about 30 minutes. Afterward, clean the area with a clean cloth. For more persistent stains use a window cleaner.
Keep in mind that cleaning carpet stains can be a long process and most likely you will need to repeat the whole procedure multiple times. Therefore, don't give up after the first try.
