Limescale: How to remove it for good?

Limescale is a white chalky hard substance that appears inside of kettles or around taps. It is the product of insoluble calcium carbonate deposits that occur in hard water. When there is too much of the chalky substance, it can reduce the water flow in taps and pipes and prevent heat transfer in the kettle.

Soft water mainly contains sodium, which makes its taste slightly salty. Hard water, on the other hand, contains dissolved minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. Limescale is not harmful to us. Many people prefer to drink hard water since it contains essential minerals that are good for our bodies. In Slovakia, there are certain areas with hard water and soft water.
